May 24, 2021 Closed Session Votes
Below are the votes from the closed session of the Board of Police Commissioners meeting on May 24, 2021.
Commissioner Tolbert had an excused absence.
Following a motion by Commissioner Garrett and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to go into closed session to discuss litigation matters. The vote was 3-1 in favor. Following polling, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Garrett voted Aye; and Mayor Lucas voted No.
Following a motion by Commissioner Garrett and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to appoint Commissioner Garrett and Commissioner Dean to a litigation committee to review the form of such litigation as may be necessary and appropriate to enforce the Board’s rights, responsibilities, and authorities under Chapter 84 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. The vote was 3-1 in favor. Following polling, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Garrett voted Aye; Mayor Lucas voted No.
Following a motion by Commissioner Garrett and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to authorize the initiation of litigation to enforce the Board’s rights, responsibilities, and authorities under Chapter 84 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri in such form as the litigation committee may deem appropriate. The vote was 3-1 in favor. Following polling, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Garrett voted Aye; Mayor Lucas voted No.
Following a motion by Commissioner Garrett and a second by Mayor Lucas, the Board voted to come out of closed session and adjourn. The vote was 4-0 in favor. Following polling, Mayor Lucas voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Garrett voted Aye.
The Board adjourned at 1:32 p.m.
