Alarm Ordinance
Kansas City’s alarm ordinance was implemented to reduce the number of police dispatches to false alarms. The ordinance encourages alarm users and alarm businesses to properly use alarm systems and to maintain their operational reliability. The ordinance requires that all alarm users obtain an alarm permit from the Police Department. Police response on an alarm activation will be denied until the alarm user has obtained the alarm permit.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department processes alarm user permits through CryWolf Services.
All permits previously issued and in good standing were transferred to Cry Wolf.
For new alarm permits or to reinstate suspended permits, apply and pay the $52 permit fee online at www.crywolfservices.com/kansascitymo. At renewal, there will be a $20 fee from CryWolf Services.

Permits are required for alarms that are connected to emergency assistance and could elicit a response from police.

At renewal, there will be a $20 fee from CryWolf Services, this fee can be paid online or by check and mailed to Kansas City False Alarm Reduction Program | PO Box 744924 Los Angeles, CA 90074-4924 | or residents can call (833) 739-0786 | or email [email protected] with questions.
