Job Description Summary

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all levels of application support including; maintenance, loads, updates, and troubleshooting. Demonstrate the ability to develop interfaces between various applications

Provide application support for various software applications used by the members of the KCPD including; Motorola CAD, Memex, Niche, Service Desk, and AlertNet. Provide support for any existing department application that may be added to the oversight of the Application Support Section.

Maintain and update Service Desk Application which is used by Information Services members to monitor and track IT problems, projects, assets, and contracts.

Perform analysis related to tracking overall quality and functionality of applications. Interact with end users on a consistent basis to gather feedback in order to assess accessibility, performance, and reliability of applications.

Design, build and maintain websites using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.

Develop and maintain web-based applications, utilizing standard programming languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.

Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Must reside within 30 statute miles of Kansas City, Missouri city limits during employment

Successful completion of medical, physical fitness, psychological evaluations, and CVSA test

Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with their team, department members, vendors, and the public.

Must have the ability to work independently, as well as in a team atmosphere.

Five (5) years' experience in performing advanced software application support as related to the duties listed in the linked document is preferred.

Experience with C#, TCP/IP networking, Visual Studio, .Net Programming, and Microsoft Server Support, also preferred

Web programming experience must be demonstrated

Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript or Ruby on Rails

Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and a good driving record
Physical, Cognitive, and Psychological Requirements:
- Must meet department-established physical, cognitive, and psychological health standards
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, crawl, carry equipment, kneel, climb, work on the floor under counters and desks, multiple times a day
- Position operates in a standard office environment 100% of the time.
