Project DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
D.A.R.E is a substance use prevention education program designed to equip students with skills for resisting peer pressure, violence and experimenting with tobacco, drugs, and alcohol.
This program has uniformed law enforcement officers teaching a formal curriculum to students in a classroom setting.
Project DARE gives special attention to fifth grades to prepare students for entry into junior high, where they are most likely to encounter pressures to use drugs and begin violent behavior.
G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education And Training)
G.R.E.A.T. is an evidence-based, national and international gang and violence prevention program that has been building trust between law enforcement and communities for almost 30 years.
G.R.E.A.T. is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership. There are three different curriculums for 4th, 6th and 8th grade students.
