If it’s a non-emergency, call 816-234-5111 or one of our six patrol stations. A call taker or a desk clerk will assist you in determining if an officer needs to be dispatched to assist you or if you can respond to one of our patrol stations at your convenience.
No, this type of report requires immediate data entry and must be made in person.

If the incident you are reporting occurred outside of the Kansas City, Missouri city limits, please contact the law enforcement agency that serves the location where the incident occurred.
- The location of the offense is not within Kansas City, Missouri city limits.
- The report was submitted with the wrong offense category.
- The offense did not meet the standards of online reporting (a firearm was involved, there is known suspect information, etc.)
- We need further clarification or more information on the incident in question, such as your vehicle VIN or license plate information.
A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the identity of the person(s), knows where to find the person(s) who committed the crime, or obtained the suspect’s license plate.
A photo of an unidentified person does not qualify as “known” suspect information. A color or make of a vehicle is not “known” suspect information. A photo of an unidentified person can be uploaded online, however video footage cannot.
This reporting system will only allow you to make a report with known suspect information if it is for a:
- Child Custody Violation
- Drug Activity Tip
- Traffic Complaint
- Business Shoplifting (with less than a $2,000 loss)
