Welcome to the Kansas City Police Department Online Reporting System. If this is an emergency, please call 911. Using this online reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a temporary copy of the report for free.

Please confirm the following to find out if online report filing is right for you:

Upon completion of this report process you will:

  • See the words: "Your report has been submitted."
  • Be given a tracking number for your report.
  • Be able to print a temporary copy of the report for your records.

  • All cases filed using the Citizen Reporting System will be reviewed.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
  • Filing a false police report is a crime.

Answer: If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If non-emergency, call 816-234-5111.

 

Question: What do I do if the incident took place outside of Kansas City, MO city limits?

Answer: If the incident took place outside of the Kansas City, MO, please call the police department for that city.

 

Question: What is a known suspect and what do I do if I have that information?      

Answer: A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime or the license plate number of the vehicle the suspect(s) were in. If you have known suspect information, please call 816-234-5111 to report the incident.
