Traffic Complaints

This form is for reporting ongoing traffic problems that are occurring either in a neighborhood or in a particular part of the city.

Examples of traffic complaints:

  • -       Speeding
  • -       Vehicles running stop signs
  • -       Failing to yield at crosswalks
  • -       Other hazardous violations

Issues such as malfunctioning traffic lights, missing street signs, potholes, etc., should be reported to the City’s 311 Action Center at (816) 513-1313.

Anonymous complaints will be received, but no action will be taken.

Please give a specific intersection (e.g. 12th Street and Indiana) or stretch of road (e.g. Gregory Boulevard from Troost Avenue to Paseo Boulevard). General neighborhood boundaries and lengthy stretches of roadway (e.g. I-435 from Front Street to Bannister Road) will not be addressed without further clarification of the problem area.
Days the violation occurs most frequently If your problem occurs all days of the week, please select "all days" from the menu. However, the more specific you are, the greater the chance that officers will be able to effectively address your complaint.

If your complaint involves a specific vehicle, please include the make, model, color and license number or the owner's address. It is never recommended that you place yourself in harm's way to gather this information.
If you have contacted any units of the KCPD or other law enforcement agencies about your complaint, please include all of the information you have, such as which unit or agency you contacted, with whom you spoke and when the contact took place.
