Before family and friends, the 183rd Entrant Officer Class graduated from the Regional Police Academy on April 10. Prior to the graduation, Chief Stacey Graves swore the officers in at police headquarters.
The new officers will begin their patrol assignment with Field Training Officers (FTOs) as soon as this weekend.
Officer Kirsten York received the Class Director’s Award which is presented to the class member who best demonstrated academic achievement, physical training, positive attitude, teamwork, enthusiasm, and leadership.
One officer is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Another officer is a veteran of the United States Army.
