The Kansas City Missouri Police Department is encouraging people attending Kansas City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17 to plan ahead.
With nice weather in the forecast, the always popular parade may likely have a high number of attendees. It will begin at 11 a.m., running from 33rd and Broadway to 43rd and Broadway. Please take note of street closures and other important information:
· Broadway will close to vehicle traffic at 8:30 a.m. on March 17, reopening when the parade is complete. This will likely be around 2 p.m.
· The staging area from 31st to 34th and Pennsylvania to Main closes at 7:30 a.m.
· Emergency no parking signs are already up but enforcement and towing will begin at 5 a.m. Monday morning.
· KCPD’s social services team and officers will be present along the route to help family members that have become separated from each other. If you become separated from a loved one, the child reunification tent will be at 40th & Broadway at the medical tent next to the judges stand.
· A Lost & Found tent will also be located at 40th and Broadway
Please be mindful where you park to avoid parking on private property, and do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
KCPD is prepared for the parade and will be highly visible. Hundreds of police officers and members of specialized units, including the Helicopter Unit, K-9 Unit, and Tactical Response Team will work the event.
