Call Takers, Dispatchers Receive Pay Raises

As of May 1, 2025, employees in KCPD’s Communications Unit are earning more. The starting pay for Call Takers is now $52,068 per year, ranging up to $91,068.

Call Takers can eventually become Dispatchers. The pay for dispatchers begins at $56,316 and ranges up to $98,508.

These employees play a critical role in helping Kansas Citians who call 911 or the non-emergency number. The positions are challenging, yet rewarding, often tasked with helping community members receive urgent care.
