KCPD Helps Raise $165,000 For Special Olympics

In conjunction with the Lee’s Summit Police Department, the Kansas City Missouri Police Department hosted the 2024 Polar Plunge on January 27, helping to raise more than $165,000 for Special Olympics Missouri.

In total, 484 people took the plunge into ice cold water at Longview Lake. Many volunteers and partnering organizations supported the effort.

Special Olympics Missouri is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes participate in 18 events.
