KCPD no longer offers background checks

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department no longer offers background checks for businesses and residents. As of July 31, 2019, Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) is the primary provider of criminal justice information. Due to MULES requirements, KCPD can no longer provide criminal history services. MULES is the custodian of records of criminal history data for the state and provides an on-line public service to obtain certified criminal history records. To obtain a Statewide Background Check, contact Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Criminal Justice Information Services at 573-526-6153.
