Friday morning, Jan. 16, the Police Foundation of Kansas City gifted KCPD a new state-of-the-art command post bus.

This command post will serve as the nerve center and centralized command hub in large-scale events, investigations, and tactical operations.

Highly trained officers will use this command post to de-escalate situations, facilitate peaceful resolutions, and be present and available at large gatherings, including the World Cup.

The old bus, built in the 90s, used VHS tapes and lacked modern technology. This one has been called “the most technologically advanced command post” and continues KCPD’s use of leading-edge technology for the betterment of public safety.

We are excited that our community and World Cup visitors will benefit from this gift.
