Publish Date 03/05/2020

UPDATE, MARCH 13: All KCPD community events have been suspended because of social distancing recommendations from health experts surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes the free tax preparation. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE: A new location and dates have been added. KCPD also will now offer free tax preparation from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 16-20 at the Seton Center, 2816 E. 23rd St. Additional details are below:

PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED:

KCPD is working with dedicated partners to provide free tax preparation services for community members who could not otherwise afford it. With the help of AmeriCorps, the University of Missouri Extension Office and United Way, the department will offer tax preparation throughout February and March at four different locations.

Taxes will be prepared on a first come, first served basis: there are no appointments. Please bring all documentation needed to file your tax returns. Tax preparation volunteers are not trained to do business taxes, itemized taxes, or capital gains/losses. You should see a paid tax preparer for tax situations.
