Officer Tyler Moss is the 2022 Honoree for the upcoming Going The Distance for Brain Injury Run.
The run has traditionally honored an individual affected by brain injury who exemplified the same courage and determination that Amy Thompson demonstrated for whom the race was originally founded in 1988. The race was formerly known as the Amy Thompson Run.
Moss is now teaching and mentoring at the Kansas City Regional Police Academy. That follows a grueling rehabilitation to recover after being shot near his right eye 22 months ago. Moss suffered from a fractured skull, blood clots, and pneumonia. He was on a ventilator with a feeding tube for weeks.
These injuries could not overtake Moss’ will to reclaim his life and serve Kansas City again. You’ll see his story on tv soon.
