Police search for missing woman Jessica Runions
UPDATE, APRIL 6, 2017
On April 3, 2017, a resident located human remains in the area of 233rd Street and Y Highway in rural Cass County. The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the remains as that of missing person Jessica Runions. Kansas City Missouri Police are now investigating the case as a homicide. KCPD, as well as members of numerous other law enforcement agencies, continue to search the area where her remains were discovered.

As detectives continue to look for missing person Jessica Runions, police have become aware of several trail cameras throughout the metro area. Runions’ burned car was found near 95th and Blue River Road about 2 a.m. Sept. 9. Detectives ask anyone with trail cameras to review their video to see if they have footage from September 8th and/or 9th of a dark SUV or anything out of the ordinary. Anyone with

UPDATE, 2 P.M. SEPT. 14
KCPD officers returned Kylr Yust to Kansas City today from where he was being held in Benton County, Mo. He is in the Jackson County Jail awaiting trial on the charge of knowingly burning a vehicle. His mug shot is below.

UPDATE, 7:26 P.M. SEPT. 11
At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, KCPD assisted Missouri State Highway Patrol in Edwards, Missouri, in the arrest of Kylr Yust, W/M, 9/14/88. Yust was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on charges for Knowingly Burning in relation to missing person Jessica Runions’ vehicle, found burned in Kansas City on Sept. 10, 2016 (see below previous releases).
It should be noted, Missouri Search and Rescue has searched two large areas twice with negative results.
Investigators continue following up on leads and are still looking for Jessica Runions.

UPDATE, 9:16 P.M. SEPT. 10:
On Sept. 9, 2016, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Jessica Runions, W/F, 7/10/1995, was reported missing.
It was reported she was last seen on Thursday, 9/8/16, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Just before 2 a.m. this morning, Jessica’s vehicle was located in the area of 95th St and Blue River Road. Her vehicle was found unoccupied and burned. The vehicle was towed to KCPD’s vehicle processing facility, where it is being processed for evidence.
Today, the canine search group Missouri Search and Rescue was called to the area of 95th & Blue River Road to conduct a field search for Jessica. After several hours, crews have called off their search due to darkness but plan to resume tomorrow in daylight. There will still be a police presence in the area overnight.

Jessica was last seen on September 8, 2016, at 9:30 p.m. driving a 2012 black Chevy Equinox with license plate number is MN2-C8B.
