Police seek information in murder of 8-year-old
Kansas City Missouri Police are trying to find who killed a little boy in the bed where he slept.
Brian Bartlett, age 8, was killed about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, while he was sleeping in his home in the 8300 block of Tracy. Someone outside fired more than 30 rounds into the house. An adult woman also was struck by the gunfire but is expected to survive.
“Every homicide in our city is a tragedy, but when an innocent 8-year-old boy dies while sleeping in his bed, it’s an especially heinous crime,” Chief Richard Smith said.
Police have no suspect information in this case. A $25,000 reward is available for information leading to the arrest of Brian's killer. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
Brian’s murder is the 89th homicide in Kansas City in 2019.
