Unsolved Homicides
We appreciate witnesses coming forward and providing statements. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department will continue to investigate these and other homicides until the suspects are identified, caught, and the cases are brought to the appropriate prosecutor’s offices. Victims: Deshawn L. Dudley B/M 09-23-1995, Dondre D. Hart B/M 08-26-2002
On 09-05-2022 at 2239 hours, officers were dispatched to 7320 Manchester Ave. on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found multiple people shot. The two listed victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. During the investigation, it was determined that there was a large pool party in the rear of the residence when two suspects fired multiple gunshots over a fence in to the crowd.

On 09/20/2022 at 1810 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to the area of 35th and Kensington Ave on a reported sound of shots. Upon arrival in the area they were directed to the address 3642 Cypress Ave and were advised a female victim had been struck and was transported by family to an area hospital by private conveyance. The female victim, Loretta Neal, was declared deceased at the hospital as a result of her injuries. The victim was working in her kitchen and was not the intended target of gunfire.

On 09-18-2022 at approximately 2123 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to 2931 Wabash Ave Kansas City, Jackson County, MO in regard to a KCFD-EMS call. Upon arrival officers were directed into apartment 1S where they located a male victim, Charles Bass, suffering from an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was helping the renter of the apartment move.

At 8:05 p.m. Aug. 27, 2020, officers were dispatched to 4656 Prospect on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they located the victim inside the his vehicle in the street across from the Conoco. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. This surveillance video captured the suspects. At 8:01 p.m. Aug. 25, officers responded to Guinotte and N. Montgall on a sounds of shots call. Upon arrival, the two victims were located inside a vehicle. The suspect shot at the victims from his vehicle before fleeing the scene. The victim, Montez Blake, was homeless and staying in the area of Belvidere Park. In the early morning hours of Aug. 13, 2020, officers were dispatched to Independence Ave./Paseo in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers discovered Blake’s body in the field northwest of the intersection. He suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers were dispatched to 34th and Indiana at 1:38 a.m. July 26, 2020, on a reported medical call. Upon their arrival, the victim was found obviously deceased. Witnesses reported an unknown person running from the area at approximately 11 p.m. An area canvass revealed several people heard the sounds of shots at approximately 10:45 p.m., however no one reported them to police. Officers were dispatched on July 05, 2020 to 6227 E 16th Terrace at 10:43 p.m., in regard to a reported shooting. Officers located the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported from the scene to an area hospital where he died of his injuries.

At 4:50 p.m. June 24, 2020, the victim was sitting on his front porch at 4448 Paseo when unknown black male suspects shot him and fled the area on foot. The victim, Paul Garcia, was a 50-year-old male who had just gotten home from a doctor’s appointment. He was lying on the couch with his grandchildren when he was struck with a rifle round that entered his home at 1609 Elmwood. Outside the victim’s home, the suspects in the shooting were targeting someone on foot who ultimately got away and was uninjured. The intended target of the shooting has been identified but has not been cooperative with the investigation. Paul had lived at the home for 30 years with his wife.
