Unsolved Homicides
We appreciate witnesses coming forward and providing statements. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department will continue to investigate these and other homicides until the suspects are identified, caught, and the cases are brought to the appropriate prosecutor’s offices. On 05-‐17-‐2017, at 1045 hours, officers were dispatched 2727 Benton in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival officers observed the victim to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Det. Tom Hammond is the case detective and can be reached at 816-‐234-‐5043.
On 5-‐7-‐2017 at 2058 hours officers responded to Swope Park and Pavilion in regard to a sound of shots. At the location officers located the victim, Evette M. Clint, seated in the driver's seat suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries. The victim was declared deceased on 5-‐10-‐2017 Det. On 5/24/2017 at approximately 1916 hours members of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department
were dispatched to the area of 57th and Bales Ave in regard to the sound of gun shots. Upon arrival
officers were directed to the rear of a residence where they located the victim suffering from trauma to his
body. KCFD EMS responded and confirmed the victim deceased on scene. This is being investigated as a
homicide.

Gregory Fields B/M 2/27/1988 Occurred: 03-‐04-‐2017, 0027 hours at 2036 E. 38th On March 4, 2017 Gregory Fields was found deceased inside his vehicle. Detectives believe someone lured him to this location to kill him. Det. Daniel Frazier (816)889-‐1666
Occurred: 2/28/2017, 1819 hours @ 41st and 71 Hwy
On February 28th, Julius Harris was driving his bright yellow truck north bound on 71 Highway when someone from another vehicle opened fire on his vehicle. Det. Wayne Fitzner (816)234-‐5043
Michael L. Hawkins, B/M, 10/20/1984 Occurred: 2/28/2017, 1920 hours @ 3600 Flora On February 28th, Michael Hawkins was found deceased inside his residence. Det. Leland Blank (816)889-‐1667
On 02-‐10-‐17 at approximately 0234 hours, officers of the Kansas City, MO Police Department responded to 2336 Drury Ave. on an ambulance call. On 02-04-2017 at approximately 2228 Hours, Officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to the area of I-29 and NW 56th Street Kansas City, Platte County, Missouri 64151 on a dead body discovered at that location by a Trooper with the Missouri State Patrol. On 01/29/2017 at 1630 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to 6664 Paseo Blvd, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri on a reported medical nature unknown call. Upon arrival officers discovered a deceased female inside the residence. Darrious Smith B/M 11/10/94
Officers were dispatched to the location on 1/28/2017 at 0417 hours in regards to shots fired. At the scene the officers located the victim, Darrious Smith, and medical personnel declared him deceased at the scene. A female subject was contacted and was suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The female was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries. Det.
