Unsolved Homicides
We appreciate witnesses coming forward and providing statements. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department will continue to investigate these and other homicides until the suspects are identified, caught, and the cases are brought to the appropriate prosecutor’s offices. Jose Espino H/M 08-04-1976
Discovered: 09-12-2012 at 0809 hours
On 09-12-2012 at 0809 hours, Officers were dispatched on a shooting. Upon
arrival, the deceased victim was discovered seated inside a blue truck parked
in the driveway of 1412 Colorado.

Joseph T. Davis B/M 08/24/1985
On 09-12-2012 at approximately 1420 hours, officers were dispatched to 40th &
Wabash on a shooting. The victim was located lying in the southwest corner
suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an
area hospital where he later died of his injuries. The victim had been walking in
the area when he was approached by a black Chevy Monte Carlo. The
occupant(s) began shooting at the victim from inside the vehicle. The Monte
Carlo then fled the scene east on 40th Street, from Wabash.

James Bradley-Piseno B/M 9-8-90
On September 10th, 2012, at approximately 1:45 PM officers were sent to 4004 E
56th Terrace. When they arrived in the area officers located two male victims
suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in a grey Buick four door vehicle.
Both victims were transported to area hospitals where they were admitted for
treatment of their injuries. One of the victims, James Bradley-Piseno, died from
his injuries on September 14th, 2012.

Maurice “Chico” Carter Jr. B/M 04-28-1993
Occurred: 09-09-2012, 1710 hours at 4906 Garfield
On 09-09-2012 at approximately 1714 hours, Officers were dispatched to 4906
Garfield on a reported outside disturbance sound of shots. Upon arrival they
discovered the victim deceased from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
Three juvenile girls were also inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. One
of the girls received a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Arnold L. Shelby B/M 6-14-78
On 9-8-2012, at approximately 4:30 am, Arnold Shelby was killed in the street in front of
3707 East 29th Street. He was found lying behind his Green, Chevrolet Pick-up Truck.

Tyree Stuckey B/M 11/15/1984
Occurred: 8/28/12, 3350 Jackson, The victim was driving south on Jackson when he was struck by a bullet being fired by someone in another vehicle traveling south on Jackson. The suspect was driving a dark SUV and was shooting at a red pick-up truck.

Dewayne K. Whitelaw B/M 06/15/1989
Occurred: 8/20/12, 66th Terr and Virginia
The victim was standing on the side rails of a friend’s vehicle as they drove west on 66th Terr.
Suspects began shooting at the vehicle as they pasted Virginia. The victim was struck by a bullet
and was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Mark D. Taylor B/M 11/26/1979
On 08/16/2012 at 2124 hours, the victim was in front of his residence talking on his cellular telephone
giving the party on the phone directions to his location. Information gained from witnesses stating the
victim was waving over a vehicle, apparently the subject he was speaking to on the phone. The
witnesses stated a dark color (4) door vehicle stopped in front of the victim’s location and the victim
approached the passenger side of the vehicle. The witnesses stated the victim was apparently having a
conversation with the suspects in the vehicle when shots were fired and the victim was hit.

Mickel A. Lane BM 8-18-83
On 8-8-2012, 2158 hours, Officers were called to the northwest corner of 23rd and Denver in regard to a
shooting. On arrival Mickel A. Lane, BM, 8-18-83 was found deceased having sustained gunshot
wound(s).

Terrail L. Myers B/M 7-16-85
On 07-28-2012, Officers were dispatched to 2066 E. 38th St. on a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, Terrail L. Myers was discovered outside of the residence, deceased from
apparent gunshot wounds.
