Unsolved Homicides
We appreciate witnesses coming forward and providing statements. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department will continue to investigate these and other homicides until the suspects are identified, caught, and the cases are brought to the appropriate prosecutor’s offices. On 12-12-2019, and at 1956 hours, officers of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department were dispatched to 432 Highland Ave. on a reported shooting. Upon their arrival the female victim was located next to her vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. KCFD/EMS were notified and responded. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

Shaketa Payne B/F 1/9/1982 Fernando Howard B/M 1/15/1983
On 12-8-2018 at 0035 hours Officers were dispatched at 0035 hours on a medical
nature unknown to 2901 Monroe, which was updated to 2943 Monroe. Officers
determined the scene to be a house at 2945 Monroe. Inside they discovered two
dead bodies, one male and one female. The Medical Examiner ruled the deaths
homicides.

Tyrone C. Birdwell B/M 1/28/1989
On 10/5/2018 at 0147 hours Officers were dispatched on a Shotspotter call and
arrived to find a deceased adult male lying prone on the east side of the sidewalk
in front of 4325 Troost. He appeared to have been shot. Several other shots fired
calls came in after the initial Shotspotter call, which recorded one gunshot. Area
canvas revealed several surveillance cameras but additional information is
needed.

Occurred: 09/24/2018, 0542 hours @ 3808 Wabash
Antonio was leaving the address when he was shot and killed by the suspect.

Jaquon Harris B/M 08/06/1995
Occurred: 09/18/2018, 1806 hours @ 3736 South Benton
Jaquon was visiting a friend at the listed address when a vehicle drove down the
street and began shooting at him. Jaquon died on 9/21/18 from his injuries.

Tasheika Baker B/F 11/21/1976
On 8/16/2018 at 2229 hours officer were dispatched to I-470 and Raytown Rd on
a shooting. They canvassed and located the victim at I-470 and View High. Lee's
Summit Fire/EMS were first at the scene and transported the victim to Research
Hospital. The victim was declared deceased at the hospital.

Jerel A Price B/M 6/16/1991
On 8/14/2018 at approximately 2353 hours officers were dispatched to 3543
Prospect in regard to a Shotspotter call. The call was later updated to a shooting.
Upon officer arrival they located the victim in the northbound lanes of traffic.
EMS responded and declared the victim deceased.

Homicide occurred 08-04-2018 @ 2338 hrs
4909 E 39th Pl Jackson Co, KCMO
Witness heard several gunshots before leaving his residence and observing a male lying beside a vehicle unconscious. Officers arrived and the victim was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Another witness was contacted who was with the victim when the shooting occurred. The witness stated she planned to meet the victim to buy some marijuana. She borrowed a tan SUV from her friend and she drove to the cul de sac and waited for the victim. When the victim arrived, he parked in front of the SUV and got into the passenger side of the SUV.
Two unknown black male suspects approached the vehicle. Suspect #2 had a gun and told them to get out of the vehicle. They took $40 from the witness and she took off running and called 911. As she was running she heard gunshots.

Tyrone Standifer B/M 12/14/1963
On 8/2/2018 at 1615 hours, the 1010 Squad responded to 18th and Prospect in
regard to a homicide. One deceased male was located at the scene and a second
living victim was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The actual
shooting scene was located at 22nd and Walrond.

Shanterria Edwards B/F 7/2/1992
Occurred: 07/23/2018, 0220 hours @ 1326 E. 89th
Shanterria was sitting inside her vehicle when the suspect began shooting into the
vehicle. Shanterria was struck by gunfire and died at the scene.
